Majestic G

This is how I started,

analog infrared portraits.

Back in 2016, I shot this series of photos for the band “Majestic G”. It was a very risky move to both of us: we paid quite a lot to order the only existing color infrared film at that moment (I believed that it’s discontinued now) , the “35mm Infrared Film - FPP Color IR” by Film Photography Project USA. It’s a copy of the legendary Kodak Aerochrome, it requires some sort of yellow-ish filter and it’s very temperature-sensitive.

I carefully took one roll to test how it responds to sunlight. The result was unpredictable and fun, but also add uncertainty to the project.

The pictures turned out great. I especially like the first one. All six members were tiny in the frame, the reflection on the water looks very interesting. The trees behind almost transformed into the smoke of a nuclear bomb, any minute it’s gonna devour everything.

Again I would like to thank Majestic G for the trust.
